Solar Panel Company Avoids Unlawful Discharge Claim, NLRB Rules – Bloomberg Law

An Arizona solar panel installer dodged an unlawful termination claim because the evidence didn’t establish that the worker in question was actually fired, the National Labor Relations Board ruled.

For example, Commercial Solar Arizona LLC opposed former employee Jared Shortal’s bid for unemployment benefits by saying he quit—and Shortal didn’t appeal the denial of benefits—the NLRB said in its ruling Friday.

The NLRB also severed allegations that the company maintained illegal work rules and sent them back to an administrative law judge to reassess under the standard adopted in the board’s 2023 decision in Stericyle, Inc.
