US privately-held agribusiness giant Cargill Inc has sealed a deal with pan-European renewables developer Galileo Green Energy to procure power from a 79-MW solar farm under development in southern Italy.

The companies have signed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) which secures the supply of about 1 TWh of clean electricity to the food company over the contracted period, according to a press statement released today.
