NREL Research Explores Durability of Perovskite Solar Cells Outdoors – SolarQuarter

March 16, 2022 – Researcher Technician Josh Parker checks wiring connections on small Perovskite Accelerator for Command Technologies (PACT) solar panels at the Outdoor Test Facility (OTF) at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). (Photo by Werner Slocum / NREL) Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) show great potential due to their high performance and low production costs compared to silicon-based cells, but stability and durability remain challenges. Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, new research examined PSC degradation under outdoor sunlight versus LEDs. A hybrid polymer material improved UV stability…

NC must avoid a ‘bulldozer transition’ to solar energy • NC Newsline – NC Newsline

North Carolinians concerned about climate change should know that Duke Energy is moving toward land confiscations in the state’s southeast on an “aggressive timeline.” The utility is poised to use solar projects in “red zones” as a pretext to build lucrative transmission projects, the land corridors of which would be cleared with eminent domain. Rural communities must be protected from this Duke Energy profit grab for moral and political reasons.
