Two new 5.25 MW solar farms will be built on Gumatj and Rirratjingu country on the Gove Peninsula in the Northern Territory of Australia, as Rio Tinto works to secure a more sustainable power supply for the region beyond mining, the company says. Rio Tinto Ltd (ASX:RIO) announced on Tuesday that it has completed the installation of a 3.5-MW solar system at its Diavik Diamond Mine in Canada’s Northwest Territories, a project launched as part of its strategy to reduce diesel consumption at the site. BRIDGMAN — The Bridgman Public Schools Board of Education moved forward on plans to heat and power Reed Middle School with solar panels during its June 24 regular meeting.
