German renewable power producer Clearvise AG (ETR:ABO) on Tuesday said it is expanding further its activities in the Italian market with plans to build two solar parks with a combined capacity of 14.2 MWp.

The projects are part of the company’s clearPARTNERS development cooperation from end-2023 involvoing five Italian projects of around 125 MWp in total. The new plants will be installed around 15 km south of Rome, in the Lazio region of western Italy.

Both of the newly announced projects are undergoing environmental and building approval procedures.

To be located on former quarries for gravel and sand, the photovoltaic (PV) farms will be built in close proximity. They will have individual capacities of 7.6 MWp and 6.6 MWp, respectively. Clearvise expects to start building the larger park in the first quarter of 2025 and bring it online in the summer of the same year. Construction at the second site is due to begin three months after the commissioning of the first plant and will take about four months to complete.

In April, Clearvise acquired the rights to a 16.1-MWp solar park in Sardinia, the first project under the clearPARTNERS scheme.
