Homeowners in D.R. Horton communities have a new option to generate and store solar energy. U.S. homebuilder D.R. Horton has agreed to offer Canadian Solar solar and energy storage products across communities in California. Under the agreement, Canadian Solar will provide a total home energy battery back-up solution, which includes both its high-efficiency solar panels and fully integrated residential energy storage system, EP Cube.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with D.R. Horton to help homeowners significantly reduce energy expenses amidst soaring electricity costs in California,” stated Thomas Koerner, SVP of Canadian Solar.
D.R. Horton, America’s largest homebuilder, has been building high-quality, functional residences for individuals and families in desirable locations since 1978. Over the next year, D.R. Horton plans to construct thousands of homes in California.
Canadian Solar EP Cube
Canadian Solar Inc. debuted the EP Cube Lite, a new grid-tied energy storage solution, in the North American market at RE+ in Las Vegas.
Representing an expansion of the company’s successful EP Cube residential energy storage line, the lower-cost EP Cube Lite makes energy storage accessible to more homeowners. The system can easily be expanded later to a fully featured EP Cube, providing backup power and additional features such as EV charging using the Smart Gateway.
The system features an integrated hybrid inverter with stackable, easy-to-install storage modules. Each component weighs about 70 lbs., which allows one or two team members to complete the installation in about 20 minutes and reduces costs for both installers and homeowners. With a sleek design and aesthetically pleasing features, it matches and integrates beautifully with various home styles.
