The investment plan, set to be executed between 2024 and 2025, includes the construction of a 93 MW solar park in the Malargüe department. This project will cover 312 hectares and feature over 160,000 photovoltaic modules, requiring an investment of $90 million. Additionally, the Anchoris Solar Park will be built in the Luján de Cuyo department. It will have an installed capacity of 180 MW, with nearly 360,000 solar panels spread across 395 hectares, demanding an investment of $160 million.

These projects are expected to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, preventing almost 300,000 tons from entering the atmosphere, and will supply clean energy to more than 160,000 homes. The construction phase will create approximately 1,200 jobs at its peak, providing specialized training for the operation and maintenance of the solar parks, thereby strengthening the local value chain.

Governor Cornejo welcomed Genneia’s investment, stating, “These investments are fundamental to position the province as a leader in the energy transition and clearly demonstrate Mendoza’s commitment to economic and social development, in harmony with environmental care.”

Bernardo Andrews, CEO of Genneia, expressed pride in the investment plan, saying, “This $250 million investment in Mendoza underscores our commitment to continue growing and maintaining our leadership in supporting the energy transition, industry decarbonization, and the generation of local employment.”

Earlier this year, Genneia achieved a milestone by reaching 1 GW (1,004 MW) of installed capacity, a first in Argentina, significantly contributing to the decarbonization of the country’s energy matrix and supporting Argentina’s international commitments.
