Midsummer, a wholesale distributor of renewable energy systems, has partnered with InstaGroup to enable it to launch its first fully connected solar PV system, InstaGen.

Alongside panels, battery storage and inverters, InstaGen provides a user-friendly app. Consumers can use the technology to control their InstaGen system and energy usage. InstaGroup has operated in the energy efficiency industry for almost 45 years, providing materials for SME installers and accessing funding such as the Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) and Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF).

Midsummer provides supply and design support through its software Easy PV. Easy PV was developed to help solar installers with project design, optimisation of solar energy set-up and one-step full kit purchase.

Tom Livesy, purchasing director at Midsummer, commented: “We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with InstaGroup to distribute their range of InstaGen products.

“Instagroup places a high value on customer relationships and prioritises customer service—something that closely aligns with our values at Midsummer. Combining Midsummer’s expertise in full system design, warehousing, and nationwide logistics with InstaGroup’s knowledge and resources in the ECO4 and scheme space marks the beginning of an exciting journey together.”

Solar manager at InstaGroup Paul Griffiths added: “During the peak of the feed-in tariff circa 2012, the supply of InstaGen panels enabled us to support our vast network of customers and navigate the hurdles that they encounter within the renewables sector.

“The complexities of integrating products from various manufacturers can often lead to complications, therefore, we developed a fully connected system along with a consumer app that offers technical support and product monitoring.

“The expertise from Midsummer, including bespoke software, helps solar installers master the complex process of project design and optimisation which is impressive. We are looking forward to working with Midsummer as this new partnership ensures the installer’s needs are met and a personable experience is provided from beginning to end.”
