OHLA wins contracts to build 144 MW of solar farms in Spain – Renewables Now

Spanish civil engineering and construction company Obrascon Huarte Lain SA (BME:OHLA) has been awarded contracts to build a pair of solar farms totalling 144 MW in Spain.

The contracts are worth more than EUR 60 million (USD 64.3m), the company said in an announcement on Thursday.

One contract will take OHLA to the Spanish region of Extremadura to build a 54-MW plant featuring 88,500 solar panels. The second contract is for the construction of a solar farm of close to 90 MW in the region of Murcia.

Details about the projects and client or clients were not disclosed.

OHLA has been booked on four solar photovoltaic projects in Spain so far this year, racking up contracts worth nearly EUR 175 million, including the latest ones.

Overall, OHLA’s portfolio includes close to 35 renewable energy projects in Europe, the Americas and Asia, amounting to more than 2,600 MW of installed capacity, according to the company.
