Built in Ohio. Used for Ohio. A company manufacturing solar panels in Pataskala shipped its first panels to a new solar energy center under construction in Hardin County.

Illuminate USA began operations at its 1.1 million-square-foot facility back in February.

The facility has now shipped its first panels to Invenergy’s Hardin Solar III Energy Center. The company, whose board chairman is the president and corporate business leader at Invenergy, said the center would provide up to 250 megawatts.

“Illuminate USA started producing solar panels at scale within a year of its launch, and now more than 700 Ohioans are showing the solar industry that the US is ramping up to meet our nation’s demand for clean energy,” said Illuminate USA CEO Frank Zhu. “We’re very proud that the very first solar panels to be produced at our new Ohio facility are being installed right here in Ohio.”

Illuminate USA said it has produced more than 200,000 utility-scale panels since starting production earlier this year.
