Sunrock DG inks tax equity deal for US solar, DG projects – Renewables Now

US commercial solar and storage developer-operator Sunrock Distributed Generation (Sunrock DG) has entered into a tax equity partnership with financial services firm Nelnet Inc (NYSE:NNI) to gain access to capital for new projects across the United States.

The financial arrangement will enable Sunrock DG to bankroll and build its current portfolio of solar and DG projects across several US states, including California, Illinois, New Jersey and New York, Nelnet said.

Financial details were kept under wraps.

Sunrock DG has already begun construction on some initial projects.

“Sunrock is thrilled to announce our financing partnership with Nelnet, Inc, which will enable us to build even more solar and distributed generation assets originated and developed using our proprietary underwriting system and automated technology platform,” commented Wilson Chang, Sunrock’s CEO.

Sunrock DG is a portfolio company of Greenbacker Development Opportunities Fund I LP, an affiliate of Greenbacker Capital Management LLC.
