LOYALTON — Upper Dauphin Area will be powered by solar energy in the near future after signing an agreement to bring solar panels to the district.

The Upper Dauphin Area School Board voted at its April 9 meeting to sign two agreements, one to lease land to McClure Company, under the company UDSD Solar, LLC near the Upper Dauphin Area High School to install solar panels on land near the Upper Dauphin Area High School. UDSD Solar will pay $1 for the rights to lease the land.
