Danish renewable energy company Better Energy has signed a deal with Scan Global Logistics to provide the logistics services provider with power from a new solar park in Sweden.

The power purchase agreement (PPA) ensures the supply of green electricity for Scan Global’s Swedish offices and warehouses for 10 years, the freight forwarder said on Thursday.

The contract will facilitate the construction of a photovoltaic (PV) park near Studsvik. The plant will span 23 ha and will be capable of producing 25 GW of electricity annually, with its annual output expected to be enough to cover the consumption of over 4,000 Swedish homes. Its grid connection is due to take place late in 2024.

Scan Global is already procuring green power from one of Better Energy’s solar parks in Sweden. In 2022, it was part of multi-partner group that committed to a bundled offtake from Better Energy’s project.
