In a significant advancement for renewable energy in Puerto Rico, Energy Software Solutions has unveiled the first installation and commissioning of a Tigo EI Residential Solar Solution, featuring whole-home backup capabilities. This pioneering introduction marks a crucial step towards providing more reliable renewable energy options on the island, aligning with Puerto Rico’s recent commitment to achieving a 100% renewable energy future by 2050.


The Tigo EI Residential Solar Solution, now operational in Arecibo, was designed and installed by Tigo installer partner CEnergyS Solar Solutions, a reputable renewable energy systems company serving Puerto Rico for over a dozen years. Comprising Tigo TS4 Flex MLPE products, the Tigo EL Inverter, a modular DC-coupled EI Battery, and other essential components, this solution ensures fast, flexible, and dependable installation for residential solar systems.


Eng. Abdeel Molina, owner of CEnergyS Solar Solutions, praised the simplicity and efficiency of the installation process, highlighting the ease of integrating the ATS, inverter, and battery. With the aid of the Tigo app, commissioning was swift, resulting in a robust and reliable system.


Powered by the Tigo Energy Intelligence monitoring platform, CEnergyS Solar Solutions gains comprehensive access, control, and module-level visibility into the installation. The flexibility of the EI Solar Solution enables individual optimization of each solar module, mitigating the impact of partial shading and module mismatch, thus safeguarding system performance over time.

Jing Tian, Chief Growth Officer at Tigo Energy, emphasized the resilience and reliability of the EI Residential Solar Solution, particularly crucial in Puerto Rico’s climate prone to tropical weather and hurricanes. The hybrid architecture of the EI Inverter ensures enhanced energy production throughout the day, while the EI Batteries capitalize on the inverter’s efficiency to maximize charging capabilities. Additionally, the Tigo ATS facilitates seamless transitions between grid-tied solar, solar-plus-storage, or battery-only modes, ensuring uninterrupted power supply during grid outages.
