US private equity firm True Green Capital Management LLC (TGC) has partnered with Korean-German photovoltaics expert Qcells to install up to 450 MW of solar power projects across the United States.

The partnership will promote community, commercial and industrial and grid-scale solar projects, which the EPC arm of Qcells, Qcells Enable, will lead and deliver on a turnkey basis, TGC said on Tuesday.

Qcells will also supply American-made solar panels from its fully integrated factory in Cartersville, Georgia, which is due to start commercial production in late 2024.

The Cartersville factory will have an annual production capacity of 3.3 GW, manufacturing everything from raw material to finished panels.

“This strategic move enables us to minimize offshore supply chain risks but also ensuring excellent project delivery,” said Panos Ninios, Managing Partner at TGC.

TGC, which specialises in renewable energy infrastructure, will invest in the projects.
