Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE) has recently announced a strategic partnership with Hitachi Energy, a global leader in power grids technology. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on Monday (22/1) by Pertamina NRE CEO Dannif Danusaputro and Hitachi Energy’s Country Managing Director in Indonesia, Predrag Grupkovic, aims to foster innovation and technology advancement in energy conservation and electric power systems.
Under this agreement, both parties will collaborate on research and development to create innovative solutions applicable across various sectors, including energy resource management and conservation within Pertamina NRE. Dannif Danusaputro emphasized the significance of this partnership in enhancing energy efficiency and adopting cutting-edge technology to minimize environmental impact.
Predrag Grupkovic echoed the sentiment, highlighting Hitachi Energy’s commitment to supporting Indonesia’s sustainable development goals. He emphasized the company’s role in facilitating Indonesia’s transition towards a sustainable energy future and contributing to climate mitigation efforts.
The collaboration will focus on developing technologies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce carbon footprint in Pertamina NRE’s activities. Hitachi Energy will share expertise in power systems and renewable energy with Pertamina NRE, facilitating joint technical studies related to renewable energy, hybrid power systems, reliability, and energy conservation at Pertamina NRE’s power plants.
This partnership underscores Pertamina NRE’s strategic focus on technological innovation to oversee Indonesia’s energy transition and support the nation’s goal of achieving Net Zero Emission by 2060.
