Cosmic, a US-based company renowned for innovative housing solutions, has launched Cosmic ONE, a pioneering accessory dwelling unit (ADU) equipped with integrated solar power generation, water recycling systems, and customizable design features. 

This micro home represents a significant leap in sustainable living options, tailored to meet diverse residential needs from urban settings to rural landscapes.

Cosmic ONE emerges as an evolution of a model first introduced by the San Francisco company in 2002, now offering enhanced functionalities and configurations suitable for various living arrangements. 

According to Cosmic, this limited-edition micro home serves not only as an ADU but also as a primary residence or modular building block for larger residential developments.

    The Cosmic ONE offers three configurations tailored to varying spatial requirements: The Studio, starting at 395 square feet, includes a living space, kitchen, and bathroom; the One-Bedroom Unit expands to 595 square feet for added comfort; and the Two-Bedroom Unit spans 750 square feet, suitable for larger households or versatile use. Customers have the flexibility to customize both exterior and interior finishes, choosing from options like charred wood siding, aluminum fascia, and custom decking materials, ensuring a blend of aesthetic appeal and practical functionality.

    Built using advanced manufacturing techniques, Cosmic ONE significantly reduces construction timelines and material waste compared to traditional building methods.     Key to the Cosmic ONE’s attractiveness are its integrated sustainability features: It includes rooftop solar arrays with 10 to 32 panels generating between 24 kWh to 76 kWh daily, a 40 kWh battery for storing surplus solar energy, ensuring uninterrupted power, and a water recycling system that captures and reuses wastewater for non-potable purposes, boosting environmental efficiency.
