By the end of September — ahead of schedule — the $1.1 billion solar-panel plant under construction in Lawrence County expects to have hired 750 people from the region in jobs ranging from entry-level technicians to engineers, officials said.
First Solar Inc. has already been seeking and hiring workers from the region, which includes Lawrence, Limestone, Morgan, Madison and Cullman counties, but there are still many jobs to be filled.
