Strong winds blew solar panels off a building, damaging two parked cars below, in Cape Town, South Africa, footage filmed on Sunday, April 7, showed.

Strong wind gusts from a storm caused power outages, infrastructure damage, blown-off roofs, traffic collisions, fallen trees blocking roads, and fires from damaged power cables, according to local news outlet Cape Town ETC.

The South African Weather Service issued an orange level 6 alert for “damaging interior wind,” warning of danger to life, injury, and risks of structural damage.

Footage filmed by Luke Daries showed the solar panels and their fixtures lying on two parked cars in the Sea Point area of the city. One of the cars roofs can be seen heavily dented, with its windshield smashed.
